# Reduce the first step of a search form to one field

**Evidence grade: Tested.** Outside evidence supports it: a published experiment, or customer sites where verify_change found the change live long enough ago to count as kept.

Observed on 3 corpus sites. Page types: homepage, landing.

## Why it works

A multi-field search form can dominate the screen and ask visitors to work before they have been given a reason to care. Simplifying to one field makes the form less prominent, allowing emotional content to take priority while still providing a clear entry point.

## Examples

## Implement it

The full implementation spec (where on the page, structure, copy patterns, acceptance criteria) is returned by `get_tactic` through the Liftwire MCP server. Setup: https://liftwire.io/mcp
